In spite of the many challenges that face the observation and the objectives of growth in the second millennium relative to the education of girls and the achievement of equality of genders, also due to the poverty and non equality between the two sexes, and the difficult of educating girls in rural areas, in Syria efforts are made to face these challenges and the government organizations are cooperating to extend the chances of learning of females, in order to ensure that they get their full rights in education. Also laws were enacted to this effect to prohibit any violations against the girls.
In a report titled "analysis of the equality status of gender", issued lately by the Syrian organization for family affairs it was Recommended the need to bridge the gab that appears during the implementation of the tenth five years plan, and to an executable goals in the eleventh plan. Also the report calls in its recommendations to coordinate and cooperate by all sectors to avoid the creation of chasms and to specify the hurdled and to evaluate the achievements and put a clear mutual vision and to review all the achievement attained by womenin the past decades and further to include in laws and legislations the provisions that punish those who commit violence against the women.
The report refers, in spite of issuance of a number of research and studies on the violence against women and children, those studies and research depended on sample without making statistical studies to prove the violence that based on gender, the report specifies a number of international mechanisms which help to assess the extend of women progress in the community.
The report also contains topics on women rights and equality of gender, and the women role and their participation in decision making .
The report mentioned a number of suggestions made by the Syrian authority for family affairs, concern the achievement of sustainable development, for example the establishment of a net of social security that cares of poor women in the rural areas and to speed the spread of the way of family regulation and an executive plans for the older people.
