Climate Change :

Syria didn’t badge in upholding it responsibilities taking the necessary precautions which aim to reduce the dangers of climate change, it adopted a vigorous policies toward that dangerous worldly phenomena, further, Syria strives in supporting the trend that aim to diminish the emission of carbon dioxides.

  • HH. The president of Syrian republic had issued the judicial decree No. 73 of 2005 to approve the acceding of the republic to Kyoto  protocol 1997 which is derived from the structured agreement of climate change.
  • In the year 2006 Syria signed the Kyoto  protocol for the Un. Agreement on climate change  to reduce the emission of gaze , the agreement will become binding in 2012 to  reduce  the emission of carbon dioxide to parallel the emission  in the eighty of the last century.
  • Syria also approved the UN structural agreement on climate changes to limit the dangerous impact of the problems of the global warming which become threatening  the world in different parts . It also prepared the Syrian special national communique which specifies the gas emission and the procedure of adaptation to climate change and the necessity of informing of activities related to the fulfillment of the agreement.
  • A study prepared by the international institution of sustainable development predicted that water shortage and the crisis of the climate change shall impact the Alsham economy in 2050, and the population of Alsham will grow to 71m.from 42m. in 40 years from now. IT is being expected that, the degree of heat will rise between 2.5 and 3.7 per cent in summer and between 2 to 3.1 degree in winter, which threaten to change the regions climate and distort agriculture.
